How can I see someones WhatsApp status without them knowing?

In your WhatsApp’s privacy settings, there is a “Read Receipts” option. You can turn this off.
Through doing this, you can view the WhatsApp status of your contact without letting them know.

1. Go to your whatsapp settings

2. Access the settings

3. Click on Account

4. Click on Privacy

5. “Read receipts”, untick this option.

Whereas you will be able to see the other person’s status without appearing on the stalkers list, there is a catch. You too will not be able to see those that see your statuses when you update. You will always have 0 Views which I do not think you will be comfortable with given the fact that we all want to be able to see how many people check on us.

You should keep in mind that turning off Read Receipts will also turn off the read receipts notification (blue ticks) from your chats.

But if you don’t care about losing read receipt indications from your contacts. This may be considered to be the best solution for you then.

Additionally, your contacts would also not be able to know whether you read their messages or not.
